This bizarre thriller combines two homicide detectives, David Mills and William Summerset (Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman), from different generations and races, who try to put an end to the crimes of a vicious serial killer who bases his murders on the Seven Deadly Sins. As the experienced detective, Summerset tries to get inside the mind of the killer by studying the Seven Deadly Sins. Mills is less experienced and does not understand Summerset's reasoning.
