  It is the sixth century, and a ferocious dragon is terrorizing the English countryside where the king sacrifices virgins in exchange for peace. The villagers summon wizard Ulrich (Ralph Richardson) to come to their aid. Along with his young apprentice Galen (Peter MacNicol) and beautiful Valerian (Caitlin Clarke), Ulrich sets out to slay the dragon. But, Ulrich's abilities fail him, and it rests on Galen to confront the dragon and enter into a vicious battle. The special effects are great.

The other, the rightful heir to the throne, is raised by the Three Musketeers, led by D'Artagnan (Louis Jourdan), and wears an iron mask to protect his identity.
