  Mobster Goldie Gorio (Ricardo Cortez) wants to get the scoop on rival Markham King's (Frank Conroy) operation. So, why not have his lawyer Steve Carlyle (John Garrick) marry Markham's sister Helen (Helen Twelvetrees)? Gorio treats them to a lavish wedding and other extravagances. It isn't until Steve is wounded in a police raid that Helen realizes that he is a gangster, and now she stops at nothing to release him from his ties to the gang so that they can escape from the criminal world.

He thinks that he has found a solution when he makes a deal to help "Hood" escape if "Hood" will help Frank prove his own innocence. "Hood" escapes but does nothing to help Frank until Frank's reporter girlfriend Joyce (Jane Bryan) steps in and convinces "Hood" to identify the real killer, Peter Kassock (John Wray), as the man who framed Frank. It turns out that Peter is also at Rocky Point Prison, and now his fate is sealed.

  This is just a wonderful film and I cannot believe that Gladys George wasen't nominated for an academy award for her supurb performance. What were the voters thinking that year.?
