"The Tooth Fairy" is the nickname of brutal hockey player Derek (Dwayne Johnson) who often knocks out the teeth of his opponents. His tough attitude affects his girlfriend Carly's (Ashley Judd) young daughter, Tess (Destiny Whitlock) when he tells her that the Tooth Fairy does not exist. This upsets the Fairy Godmother of Tooth Fairies, Lily (Julie Andrews), and she sentences Derek to serve as a tooth fairy for two weeks. Whenever he receives his signal, Derek sprouts wings and must crawl under a child's pillow to take the tooth and leave a dollar bill. His stint as the Tooth Fairy does bring meaning to Derek's life.
