Amelia 2009 PG, 111 min. Genre: Drama
Director: Mira Nair Cast: Hilary Swank, Richard Gere, Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston, Joe Anderson, Cherry Jones, Mia Wasikowska, Aaron Abrams, Dylan Roberts, William Cuddy, Tom Fairfoot, Ryann Shane, Scott Yaphe, Richard Donat, Elizabeth Shepherd
Told in flashbacks from her last flight when she disappeared over the Pacific Ocean, this film serves as a biography on famous aviator Amelia Earhart (Hilary Swank) who, in 1937, became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She had gained fame earlier when she flew with pilot Bill Lutz (Joe Anderson) and Slim Gordon (Aaron Abrams) on a 20-hour flight from Newfoundland to Wales. The film shows how Amelia enjoys her celebrity status and how her marriage to George Putnam (Richard Gere) suffers because of her frequent flights and because of her love affair with Gene Vidal (Ewan McGregor).

Damien: Omen II 1978 R, 107 min. Genre: Horror / Drama / Thriller aka: Omen II: Damien
Director: Don Taylor Cast: William Holden, Lee Grant, Jonathan Scott-Taylor, Robert Foxworth, Nicholas Pryor, Lew Ayres, Sylvia Sidney, Lance Henriksen, Meshach Taylor, Allan Arbus, Elizabeth Shepherd, Lucas Donat, Fritz Ford, John J. Newcombe, John Charles Burns
It's seven years later (although only two years since the original "Omen"), and Damien (Jonathan Scott-Taylor) has moved in with his rich Aunt Ann and Uncle Richard (Lee Grant and William Holden) after getting rid of his parents in the prior movie. Those who cross Damien are quickly, and grossly, done away with as he plots to inherit his uncle's wealth. The special effects are great. Followed by "The Final Conflict" and "The Awakening."
