Pre-med student Paige (Julia Stiles) meets foreign exchange student Eddie (Luke Mably), and, after a disastrous introduction, they fall in love. But Eddie has a secret: his real name is Prince Edvard Valdemar Dangaard, and he is enjoying his "gap" year as an American university student before returning to Denmark and taking over his princely duties. Of course, the secret is soon revealed, and Paige questions whether she wants to be a future queen or stick to dreams of becoming a doctor.
