After she meets and moves in with middle-aged Eugene (Peter Finch), life gets more complicated. Tushingham and Redgrave give fine performances.

An Oscar was also received for Best Cinematography along with five other nominations, including Best Picture and Supporting Actor (Victor McLaglen).
