  A young American filmmaker, Hal Raymond (Keith Carradine), heads for the Cannes Film Festival with his new film. After the film is confiscated by French customs, Hal gets help from an Italian filmmaker's wife Maria Barone (Monica Vitti)–all of which leads to an affair. But their romance will be tested and prove to be "An Almost Perfect Affair" that is could be doomed.
