Edward (Johnny Depp) is a young man living alone whose scissor hands are the result of a weird scientific experiment during which the inventor (Vincent Price) has died before completing his work. An Avon lady, Peg (Dianne Wiest), finds Edward, pities him, and invites him into her home where Edward becomes somewhat of a community celebrity because of his specialized talents, which include hair styling and hedge trimming. Edward is attracted to Peg's daughter Kim (Winona Ryder) whose boyfriend Jim (Anthony Michael Hall) is a bully. But, Edward's happiness proves short-lived when he is accused of a crime, and only Peg and Kim rise to his defense. 1 User Review
