She comes to help with the show but ends up landing a role in the play. Now, she gets Danny to change the show from a satire into a "work of art." But, her ideas are not very good, and the show turns into a major flop, but our Greek goddess makes everything right. Remade as "Xanadu" in 1980.

  Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, as Guy and Mimi, run into each other at a resort where Mimi is awaiting her divorce. Mimi mistakes Guy for the man (Erik Rhodes) who her aunt (Alice Brady) has hired to have a tryst with Mimi and, thus, provide the grounds for her divorce. Complications ensue when Guy is attracted to Mimi, but she, because of the mix-up, does not treat him well. By story's end, all ends happily. The dances to "The Continental" and "Night and Day" are delightfully performed in this film. "The Continental" won the Academy Award for Best Song, the first year that the award was given for this category. Nominations were also received for four other awards, including Best Picture.

They do the evil deed, but Joe has taken over Farnsworth's body and leaves the scene. Now, Joe hires his manager Max Corkle (James Gleason) to get him in shape as a prizefighter. Joe meets Betty Logan (Evelyn Keyes) whose father was framed by Farnsworth, falls in love with her, and straightens out Farnsworth's debt to his investors. This inspires Julia and Tony to plot the killing of "Farnsworth" once again. The film received Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Actor, Director, and Supporting Actor (Gleason) and won Oscars for Writing (original story and screenplay).

  This satire on sexual mores is more-or-less based on the Helen Gurley Brown book by the same name. Helen Brown (Natalie Wood) is a 23-year-old therapist who advises women about sex. Bob Weston (Tony Curtis) is a magazine editor planning to write a story in which he will accuse Helen of being a virgin. But everything changes when they meet, and romance is definitely in the air–despite the fact that Bob is married–although maybe not legally–to Sylvia (Lauren Bacall). Problems ensue, which all lead to a wild taxi chase on the freeway where things are finally sorted out.
