  This is one of the best movies I have ever seen. It is sad that it is one of those movies that is hard to find on DVD so a person can watch it at their pleasure.

  Convicts escape from a penal colony off the coast of South America. Few survive the trip, but at the end, Verne believes that Cambreau is God, and he repents. Now, Verne returns to serve out the rest of his sentence, and Julie agrees to be there for him when he is released.
