  Set during the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War, Dani (Fernando Tielve) is the primary character as he narrates events in this drama. Capt. Blay (Fernando Fernan Gomez) encourages Dani to draw a portrait of young Susana (Aida Folch) who is recovering from tuberculosis. The story unfolds as events from Susana's father's (Eduard Fernandez) life come to the fore when she tells about her father's activities as a spy. By story's end, Dani and Susana are on the verge of a romance with each other.
