On the day of her wedding to Prince Edward (voice of James Marsden), Giselle (voice of Amy Adams) is banished to present-day New York City by Edward's mother, Queen Narissa (voice of Susan Sarandon), who hates Giselle. Once Giselle arrives in New York, the film changes from animation to live action, and Giselle, still in her wedding gown, meets divorce lawyer Robert (Patrick Dempsey) whose daughter, Morgan (Rachel Covey), loves everything involved in fairy tales. At Morgan's insistence, Robert invites Giselle to move in with them. Although Robert is cynical about love and marriage, Giselle is Morgan's dream come true as fantasies now fill her world, and Disney movies come to life. While living amidst this optimistic fantasy, will skeptical Robert find his views of life changing? Academy Award nominations were received for three original songs.
