  In this film, based on Henry Cecil's novel about problems in Britain's legal system, counsel Roger Thursby (Ian Carmichael) is new to the legal field and encounters more than one cantankerous judge.   I love this movie. The story is true as are the characters. It's hard to believe that this woman who was told she didn't qualify to be a missionary to China could accomplish such a mission. She was truly a great woman. Considered an ugly duckling by some, she still manages to find love with a Eurasian soldier.
