Nina and Robert Tracy (Judy Holliday and Jack Lemmon) cannot find happiness in their marriage, so they obtain a divorce. Then the fun begins as new romances enter the picture, and confusion reigns as Kim dates Charlie (Jack Carson) and Robert enjoys a fling with Janis (Kim Novak). Throughout their romantic adventures, Tracy and Robert keep running into each other, and happiness results only when they realize that they still love each other and reconcile their differences.
