The exceptional horse is the highlight of this adaptation of Anna Sewell's novel. There are some good moments in this adaptation of James Joyce's masterpiece concerning Leopold and Molly Bloom's (Milo O'Shea and Barbara Jefford) streams of consciousness. The story takes place over a 24-hour period when impotent Leopold meets a young poet, Stephen Dedalus (Maurice Roeves). They visit a brothel, and sit up all night talking. After Stephen leaves, Molly, who is unhappy with Leopold, fantasizes about a possible affair with Stephen. The film was nominated for an Oscar for Best Screenplay.
