A single mom (Concetta Tomei) takes off for a new job in Australia and leaves her five children in the care of a tyrannical old woman (Eda Reiss Merin). But, the woman dies of a heart attack on the first day, and now the kids (Christina Applegate, Keith Coogan, Robert Hy Gorman, Danielle Harris, and Christopher Pettiet) must fend for themselves–after dropping the babysitter off at a mortuary.
