Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights.... 2008 R, 100 min. Genre: Documentary / Comedy
Director: Ari Sandel Cast: Vince Vaughn, Ahmed Ahmed, John Caparulo, Bret Ernst, Sebastian Maniscalco, Jon Favreau, Dwight Yoakam, Peter Billingsley, Keir O'Donnell, Justin Long, Taylor Hackford
[Full title: Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland] In the spirit of Buffalo Bill's traveling Wild West show, in 2005 Vince Vaughn put together his own touring show with comedy as the center-point rather than animals. Gathering four relatively unknown comedians (Ahmed Ahmed, John Caparulo, Bret Ernst, and Sebastian Maniscalco) and several of his friends, the show took off from Hollywood on a 6,000 mile trip to put on 30 shows in 30 days starting with California, then heading East through the southern states, and finally into the Midwest. The comic routines are great, and Vaughn, as host, pulls the show together with sketches and actor and musician guests. The troupe even had a scrape with Hurricane Katrina. This is an entertaining documentary that shows the highlights of the tour.
