  After policeman Alex (Anthony Edwards) tickets a well-connected man in his up-scale suburb, he is reassigned to a dangerous, inner-city precinct. Disgruntled, Alex tries to adapt and is assigned to work with gruff Dennis (Forest Whitaker). As they get to know each other, they become involved in a major drug-ring case.
