Wallace Beery plays old salt Bill Johansen who is being pursued by Marge Cavendish (Marjorie Main) who would like to marry him. Filmed during World War II, this movie is about Nazi spies trying to get their hands on microfilm containing secret documents hidden in a matchbox. Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) and Dr. Watson (Nigel Bruce) travel to Washington, DC, and, in the process of their investigation, they learn that the matchbox has ended up in the hands of socialite Nancy Partridge (Marjorie Lord). They come to her rescue and sleuth out the villains.
