District Attorney Ford Cole (Ray Liotta) has plans to run for mayor when he learns that his assistant D.A. and lover Nora Timmer (Jolene Blalock) has been arrested for killing a record store employee (Mekhi Phifer). Nora claims self-defense, but Cole's bid for mayor is in jeopardy. Then a stranger Luther Pinks (LL Cool J) presents another version of Nora's story. Other suspects rise to the fore, and the complex web of deceit continues.
