Former war correspondent, now political journalist Pierre Peders (Steve Buscemi) resents the fact that he has been assigned an article on B-movie star Kataya (Sienna Miller), and to make matters worse she is an hour late for the interview. When she finally arrives, Kataya is upset with Pierre's attitude, calls off the interview, and leaves. Pierre follows but, as he leaves the building, gets hurt in a traffic accident. Kataya takes him home to nurse his wounds, and a night of trying to out-manipulate each other in a perverse game of wits ensues.
