But her son George (Tim Holt) and Aunt Fanny Amberson (Agnes Moorehead) interfere, and their actions bring on tragedy for the family when they do not accept progress in the changing world of the automobile age. The film was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Supporting Actress (Agnes Moorehead).
