This is a colorful adventure film that tells the story of how 300 Spartans, led by King Leodinas (Richard Egan), held off thousands of invading Persian soldiers at the mountain pass while the remainder of Greece's leadership debated whether or not to send soldiers.

Help is obtained from Norwegian freedom fighter Erik Bergman (George Chakiris) who will conduct a simultaneous ground attack. But Erik is captured by the Germans and, after brutal torture, reveals the plans. Some good action footage in this "Guns of Navarone"-inspired film.
