Billy Peltzer's (Zach Galligan) father Randall (Hoyt Axton) brings home a strange, but lovable, gremlin from a shop in Chinatown. However, Billy is told to never feed it after midnight, never expose it to bright light, and never let it get wet. After an accident occurs, the gremlin is exposed to light and food after midnight. This results in the whole town being threatened by evil offspring of the lovable creature.
