To make her laid-off factory-worker father, Jean (Josse De Pauw), happy, Marva (Eva van der Gucht) enters singing contests. When a chance encounter provides Jean with a chance to meet a real singing star, Debbie (Thekla Reuten), he kidnaps her. His ransom demands that Debbie's manager produce one of Jean's songs with Marva singing it. A comedy of errors ensues.
