Sean MacArthur (Channing Tatum) leaves Alabama and moves to New York City where he ekes out a living selling counterfeit goods on the street. Con artist Harvey Boarden (Terrence Howard) enters Sean's life and offers him cash to fight in the illegal bare-knuckle circuit where wealthy men place wagers. Sean does well and wins all of his fights. But the intensity grows, and Harvey asks Shawn to throw a fight so that Harvey can make big money. Now, Shawn's future hangs on his decision.

Dito faces those who influenced his life, and the story unfolds of how Dito believes he has been saved from their fate by his saints.
