This film was co-written and co-produced by Steven Spielberg. There are sequels.

At first, Jenny's response is fear, which changes to love when she takes Starman to the Nevada desert where he plans to depart Earth. Along the way, they unite against National Security Council agent George Fox (Richard Jaeckel), and Jenny helps Starman reach his fellow aliens who pick him up and take him home. Bridges was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor.
