His job is to heal his patients and return them to active duty. But, he needs more help and gets it in the form of new arrivals–orderly Jackson Leibowitz (Tony Curtis) and nurse Lt. Francie Corum (Angie Dickinson). Jackson performs more than his fair share of pranks, but he aids Newman and Francie in dealing with the traumatized patients. Meanwhile, Newman and Francie are attracted to each other, and a romance blooms.
