Egbert is given a job at the bank as a guard and becomes involved in a bank scam convincing Og Oggilby (Grady Sutton)–who happens to be the fiance of Egbert's daughter Myrtle (Una Merkel)–to embezzle funds to buy shares in the Beefsteak Mines. When bank examiner J. Pinkerton Snoopington (Franklin Pangborn) arrives on the scene, mayhem ensues culminating in a great car chase. W.C. Fields' mastery of the comic art makes this film a classic.

  In this remake of "Three on a Match," Isabel, Fay, and Connie (Margaret Lindsay, Ann Sheridan, and Marie Wilson) were brought up together in an orphanage. Now, Isabel and Connie reunite when they bail Fay out of jail after her arrest for doing a striptease. They decide to meet every June to celebrate their birthdays. In the meantime, gambling, an extramarital affair, and divorce play roles in their lives, and events lead to the kidnapping of Isabel and her daughter Judy (Janet Chapman). The kidnapping culminates in Isabel jumping out of the window to her death. The police rescue Judy, and at the next reunion Fay and Connie are joined by Judy who takes Isabel's place.

The trail leads to a nursing home. Enjoyable fare, especially for the young set.
