The TV show, featuring aspiring musical artists, is easily identified as a satirical view of American Idol with the popular program's self-absorbed Martin Tweed (Hugh Grant) preparing the season's new shows. Contestants include blonde redneck Sally Kendoo (Mandy Moore) and show-tune loving terrorist Omer Obeidi (Sam Golzari). The President agrees to a live presentation, and Omer prepares to assassinate him during his appearance on live TV.

The plight of the Japanese-Americans and the union activists/organizers in the 1930s and 1940s are both highlighted in this love story of union activist Jack (Dennis Quaid) and Japanese-American Lily (Tamlyn Tomita). Against the wishes of her father, Lily marries Jack. When World War II breaks out, Lily, along with many of the Japanese-Americans, is put in an internment camp. Wyatt Earp 1994 PG-13, 190 min. Genre: Western
Director: Lawrence Kasdan Cast: Kevin Costner, Dennis Quaid, Mare Winningham, Gene Hackman, David Andrews, Linden Ashby, Bill Pullman, Isabella Rossellini, Jeff Fahey, Michael Madsen
This complex rendering of the life of Wyatt Earp (Kevin Costner) explains how Earp's childhood affected his later life (His father taught him to distrust all men–except for family). For those interested in comparisons, "My Darling Clementine," "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral," and "Tombstone" provide glaring discrepancies in the Wyatt Earp persona. Also of interest in this film is the evidence of women and families on the settling of the West.
