Meanwhile, Blacula creates havoc in Los Angeles while Tina's friend Dr. Gordon Thomas (Thalmus Rasulala), with help from Michelle (Denise Nicholas), figures out the vampire connection and is on Blacula's trail.

The astronauts–(James Brolin, O.J. Simpson, and Sam Waterston)–are removed from the spaceship before it is launched and taken to a studio where they must pretend to be on the journey to Mars. But, journalist Robert Caulfield (Elliott Gould) becomes suspicious and investigates the conspiracy, which will go so far as to end the astronauts' lives as the means of keeping the hoax a secret.

Son Mason (Shawn Michael Howard), home from college to "fix" things, dotes on his mother while constantly fighting with his father who does not understand Mason's being gay. When the parents are sent off on vacation, control of the family is on the line as the two siblings duke it out.
