It's 2196 and John Canyon (Dennis Hopper), an independent trucker who is constantly hassled by the big corporations and has his profits taken by his corrupt boss, delivers genetically altered square pigs (for ease of stacking). He agrees to haul a secret cargo bound for Earth, and takes off with two cohorts (Stephen Dorff and Debi Mazar). Engine troubles, space pirates, and a cargo that is an army of robots to take over the Earth add to the "fun". OK, but clearly B-class.

Harry Kilmer (Robert Mitchum) is a detective who answers the call of his friend, George Tanner (Brian Keith). Tanner's daughter has been kidnapped in Japan by the gangsters, Yakuza, who are the Japanese Mafia. In order to save George's daughter, Harry knows that he must show great power and seeks out his old nemesis Tanaka (Ken Takakura) to aid him in the rescue efforts that, before all is said and done, involve uncovering an espionage plot.
