Struggling musician Peter Bretter (Jason Segel) and television star Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell) have been together for more than five years when Sarah dumps Peter. Needing a vacation in order to get his life back on track, Peter heads for Oahu. He arrives and checks into a resort only to find that Sarah and her new boyfriend, rock star Aldous Snow (Russell Brand), are also guests at the resort–and, of course, complications ensue.
