  Based on the Marvel comics superhero, this film was the pilot for a TV series. After being bitten by a radioactive spider, Peter Parker (Nicholas Hammond) becomes super-strong and is able to climb vertical structures with ease, as well as perform other feats–just what one needs to become a super crime fighter. This being his daytime job, he works as a photographer for the newspaper by night. His major task at the moment is saving the world from a mad scientist who blackmails the city by threatening to unleash people programmed to blow themselves up.

His friends–baseball catcher Spike Nolan and girlfriend Angela (John Candy and Lonette McKee)–do not understand the reason behind Brewster's spending spree and try to help, but that task proves overwhelming.

Typical Disney family comedy which ends with a wild and wacky snowmobile race.
