Tensions reach new heights when it becomes apparent that lethal creatures prowl by night–stalking aliens. Riddick, who has eyes that can see in darkness, is the only one who can see the creatures, and the survivors realize that they must depend on Riddick if they are to escape the creatures that are eating them, one by one.
