In this final of the series (preceded by "Creature from the Black Lagoon" and "Revenge of the Creature"), the creature is again captured. A lab fire damages the Creature's gills, and the scientists, noting that it has lungs, converts the Creature into an air-breathing being that is unable to go into the water. Eventually, saddened by the new life, the Creature escapes and heads to who-knows-where.
