Doug Quaid (Arnold Schwarzeneger) is a construction worker married to beautiful Lori (Sharon Stone). Doug is having peculiar nightmares about life on Mars, and, despite Lori's wishes, he goes to a mind-altering agency where he remembers that he is really a secret agent from Mars. As he sets off on a quest to Mars to piece together his identity, enemy agents, including their leader Richter (Michael Ironside), try to kill him before he regains more of his memory. The film won a Special Achievement Oscar for the Visual Effects.
