He believes that helping Parry will pull him out of his depression, comes to Parry's aid, and the search is on. Ruehl won an Oscar as Best Supporting Actress. Several nominations were also received, including Williams for Best Actor.

A pirate, Billy Bones (voice of Patrick McGoohan), has given Jim a treasure map showing how to reach Treasure Planet, and Jim's purpose in signing on to the ship is to search for the treasures hidden there. Jim becomes friends with crew member John Silver (voice of Brian Murray) and learns that he is part cyborg and plans a mutiny. When Jim opts out of the mutiny, he finds an ally in marooned robot B.E.N. (voice of Martin Short) and tries to defend law and order. The film received a Best Animated Feature Academy Award nomination.
