On the way to the hospital, their car collides with a semi, and Jessica insists that the driver is the assailant. In a fit of rage, Daniel severely assaults the driver. At the hospital, Jessica now insists that a male nurse is the assailant. Things get worse for Daniel when the truck driver dies, and it turns out that the man was the son of tough Sheriff McKenna (James Caan) who is Daniel's boss. Furthermore, Daniel is put on the case to solve the murder.
