When golden retriever Bailey (voice of Jon Lovitz) inherits the entire billion-dollar estate of his owner, Constance Pennington (Jackie Burroughs), two family members–nephew Caspar (Tim Curry) and his wife Dolores (Jennifer Tilly)–set out to prove that Bailey's guardian, Ted (Dean Cain), is abusing Bailey.
