Over-the-hill Roger (Dom DeLuise)–once a popular TV performer as "Happy the Clown"–now performs at children's parties, sleazy nightclubs, and the like. While performing at a nightclub, the club is robbed. The owner of the club, who is Roger's friend, is killed during the heist. As the only witness who could identify the killer, Roger's life is in jeopardy. But Roger decides to go on the offensive and nab the killer himself.
