In this animated film, Astro Boy (voice of Freddie Highmore) is a super-powered robot created by Dr. Tenma (voice of Nicholas Cage) in the image of his deceased son and is then rejected by Tenma. While on a wilderness journey, during which he seeks acceptance and learns to experience human emotions, Astro Boy encounters an underworld army of robots. Then, he learns that his family is in danger and returns home to reconcile with his father in Metro City and to save those he cares for.

Roddy (voice of Hugh Jackman) is a mouse living the good life in a posh London apartment–until a sewer rat, Sid (voice of Shane Richie), arrives on the scene, lures Roddy into a "whirlpool," and flushes him down the toilet. From that drain pipe, Roddy enters London's sewer world of Ratropolis where he becomes involved in quite an adventure with rats, toads, and frogs that include scavenger Rita (voice of Kate Winslet) and the evil Toad (voice of Ian McKellen).
