While a Russian woman and her young son (Dina Korzun and Artiom Strelnikov) wait for political asylum, they are sent to the dreary British town of Stonehaven, a seaside resort featuring an arcade and bingo parlor as its only highlights. There they meet Alfie (Paddy Considine), the arcade manager, with whom they form a strange relationship. Alfie just may come up with a feasible plan to save them from their bleak existence.
