Best movie I have ever seen. Complex intertwining of the fates of artists from each of the theatres of WW2. Much human passion, plenty of tragedy, expert artistic performances and a convincing fictional portrayal of the history of the period.

It is a tribute to his friend Zbigniew Cybulski, a frequent actor in Wajda's films who was killed in an accident. In this tale, the crew on the movie set reacts (or non-reacts) in different ways to the leading man's death.
