Quicksilver Highway 1997 TV, 88 min. Genre: Horror / Thriller

Christopher Lloyd hosts this made-for-TV film that presents two sub-par stories concerning body parts. In Stephen King's "Chattery Teeth," a man who has a set of chattering teeth picks up a hitchhiker, and the teeth do not seem to care for the guest. In Clive Barker's "Body Politic," a man's artificial hand takes control, leaves his body, and sets out to start a revolution of the hands.

This TV miniseries remake of the 1980 Stanley Kubrick film does a credible job of capturing the novel's intent but plods along at times. It doesn't take long before it is evident that evil forces are at work at the hotel.

Descended from cats, they are only vulnerable to a cat's scratch. Their next victim, Tanya (Madchen Amick), proves to be a tough one to deal with. Bad, but might be fun on a winter's night.
