| | Left me gazing at the stars reconsidering art and life | Iowa Girl 11/01/2011 | | The obvious bounty of actors/actresses did not prove to overtake the life story of Basquiat. I first watched this movie in a Senior Seminar at Drake University in Des Moines, IA. The class was Writing about Art, something like that, and my two passions were rolled into one semester of intelligent thinking, observation and writing. This movie made a huge impact on me, and maybe it was the timing -- one semester past 9-11, but it made me reevaluating the intersections of life and art, artists and business, and the delicate line that seems to pull each away from the other. Love David Bowie! |
