This fourth in the series of "Hellraiser" films is not very entertaining–note the fact that the director is "Alan Smithee" (an alias used in Hollywood when the director does not want to be associated with his film). Anyway, this episode finds Pinhead (Doug Bradley) in the 22nd century. He is on a space station run by Dr. Paul Merchant (Bruce Ramsay) whose mission is to close the gates to Hell. Pinhead now sets out to prevent Merchant from acheiving his goal because Pinhead, of course, wants the gates left open.

This TV miniseries remake of the 1980 Stanley Kubrick film does a credible job of capturing the novel's intent but plods along at times. Jack (Steven Weber) has had tough times and now takes on the job of caretaker at a mountain hotel for the winter, bringing his wife and son with him. It doesn't take long before it is evident that evil forces are at work at the hotel.
