The X-Men return. This even includes the X-Men who attend Charles Xavier's (Patrick Stewart) school that trains mutants to peacefully exist. Because the government believes that the X-Men are responsible for the attack, the President appoints military scientist William Stryker (Brian Cox) to investigate the school. Stryker uses foul means to get information from the X-Men's old foe Magneto (Ian McKellan) and leads an attack on the school. Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) is the only adult at the school for the time being, and his overwhelming job is to defend the school and save the students as the war escalates between the mutants and humans.
