He offers Hildy the job of writing a story about the planned execution of Earl Williams (Ausin Pendleton), and Hildy agrees. But, Williams escapes, appears in the press room, and Hildy hides Williams in a roll top desk. Now, as Hildy waits for the chance to interview Williams, he investigates, finds political corruption and the fact that they plan to execute the wrong man. (Again remade in 1988 as "Switching Channels."

They even fix Dino up with Polly the Pistol (Kim Novak)–and the fun begins. This film was condemned by the Catholic Legion of Decency upon its release but is tame by today's standards.
